Hello!
I’ve finally gotten around to starting my own blog. I’d been meaning to do this for quite a while, but there was always some reason to postpone it — mostly the standard set (laziness, work, urgent matters). Now my work schedule has become somewhat calmer, and I’ve more or less dealt with urgent non-work matters. Besides, I got tired of constantly moving the “Start a blog” task in my planner :)
For now, a lot of things here are thrown together hastily — I’ll be refining them as I go.
What’s this all for?
Several reasons. First, my thoughts periodically don’t fit into Twitter and I want to reflect more extensively. Second, I think over time it’ll be easier to just send people a link rather than spend time explaining things. Third, I want to get myself into the habit of writing more or less regularly, and preferably in a way that’s at least somewhat interesting to someone.
What will be here?
Primarily, this blog is intended as notes and musings around the development and design of various software that I’m involved in one way or another. Currently, my day job involves developing an ERP system using Oracle-Java-Delphi (yes, people still write things in Delphi), and besides that I occasionally write small projects in Python. I’ve got a ton of plans for those very projects right now. Most likely I won’t limit myself to a strict format and will post things unrelated to my profession as well, but I’ll try to mark them with separate tags so those who aren’t interested can skip them. I may also publish translations of interesting English-language articles (it turns out that to this day many programmers don’t know English very well).
